St. Leonard's Forest

St. Leonard's Forest

According to the author, Antony D. Hippisley Coxe, St. Leonard's Forest is a "place full of mysteries".

In 1614, there were accounts of a mysthical creature at Faygate. It was described as being "nine feet long, with a black back and red underbelly". Could this have been a Dragon?

In the forest itself, Old Nick - the Devil himself - is supposed to appear.

The apparition of a Squire Paulet reputedly jumps on horses behind the unsuspecting rider.
